Alright. First post on my first blog ever.

I created this blog because I have finally gotten sick and tired of working for someone else. It has always been a dream of mine to achieve financial independence, but sadly, I never had the courage or nerve to simply go for it. I have named my blog Freedom not Ferraris for the obvious reasons, it’s all about having enough money to dictate my life, rather than buy useless things. I’m not sure which came first, but I’ve always said to my wife I want to be rich but I don’t want Ferraris or a ton of expensive things, I just want to be able to live my life how I want; however, one of the people I really aspire to emulate, Charlie Munger, also made a similar statement in a biography of his. So, I’m not really sure where it came from at this point.

Anyway, I want to be different than every other blog, so one thing I’ve noticed that others don’t do too much of is highlight their failures on the path to freedom. Failures mean we are trying something new, and I’ve experienced my fair share of them, so along with the positives I want to show the downsides that can happen when trying to achieve success and the nerve it takes to keep trying.

To whomever reads this, I hope you enjoy it and I expect to have many more posts to come!
